I admit. Ever since I signed up for Pinterest, i've been hooked.

I can still recall the first day that I signed up for it. It was just an innocent thing. The account was made so I can pin pictures that I want to remember. Sort of a reminder of things/pictures that I find interesting on the web. I figured, I can pin them now and then get back to them after some time. I also use it to remind myself of stuff that I wanna do, or stuff that I need to be doing. It was surely not meant to be an everyday thing??!! And now what's this?!?!

I cannot help myself anymore. I’m now getting quite addicted to it. And no, i'm not just your usual addicted "pinner". No sir. I don't do "trigger pinning" like most of them do. I don't pin EVERYTHING I see. I only pin stuff that are interesting to me. But my difference to most "pinners" is that I am actually planning to do everything, if not, most of the stuff I pin. (And if you know me in person, doing something or anything for that matter, is not my thing)

So far, i've already pinned about 64 pictures. These pins are divided into 4 boards. My favorite of all boards would be my “hair, skin, beauty” board. It has about 10 pictures now of beautifying techniques that I plan on doing. I’m planning to start with my hair.
I have a very thick and strong hair, however, due to frequent hair coloring and using hot hair tools, it’s gotten so dry and I’m also noticing a lot of split ends now. It ain’t pretty!
Anyways, I found a lot of useful techniques to help me with my hair. My main mission now is to nourish my dry hair and to help it grow faster. With the help of Pinterest, I found out that there are lot of home remedies and ingredients that can help me. I found around 50 tips for my hair, but I will only list the things that I would be doing myself. And the list* starts now:

1. Vinegar Rinse: Add one part vinegar with two parts water and use as final rinse after shampooing.

2. Castor Oil: For hair and eyelashes!! Massage to scalp once a week. Apply on lashes every/every other night. Leave overnight then rinse.

3. Mayo Massage: Put mayo on hair for 20mins. Then shampoo. Once a week.

4. Egg yolk and Olive Oil Mask: 2 Egg Yolk+2tbsp Olive Oil+1/2 cup water. 20mins/twice a month.

5. Banana Mask: Mash one banana then rub on hair and scalp. Cover with plastic or/and hot towel. Once a week.

6. Coconut Oil and Lemon Juice: Add one part lemon juice:two parts coconut oil. Massage on scalp, leave overnight. Rinse with cool water. Once a week.

7. Coconut Oil and Avocado Mask: Heat coconut oil for 10secs then massage on hair and scalp. Mash avocado and apply to tips of hair. Leave for 10-15mins then rinse with cool water and shampoo. Once a week.

Aren’t they ridiculously simple??
-Hell yeah!
Hmmmm I’m quite skeptic, they sound too good to be true!
-IKR? That’s why I’m gonna try them out!

Yep! I’m gonna try them and it would be entitled as my, “Project Rapunzel: A Journey Towards Healthier Hair”.
I’ll post updates of it on this blog. I already bought the ingredients that I’m gonna use. As you will notice, there’s no item on the list of a mask that you can do every night. Most of them are advised to be done at least once a week only. So what I decided to do is to choose 2 types of masks on the list that I’d be doing twice a week. I will try numbers 2 and 6. I will also put the castor oil on my eyelashes and see if it they would grow faster and thicker. EEEEHHkkk!! I’m so excited! I’ll be starting them tonight but since I’m too tired, I’ll just post the pictures tomorrow. Bye for now!

Yeah I know I sound like an insecure bitch who needs a lot of improvement on herself to feel good. Well, not really. I’m actually quite outspoken and people who know me can testify that im quite confident. All I’m saying is that all of us want to improve themselves right? For example, if you’re a person who has bad skin, or dry hair, or yellowish teeth, wouldn’t it be nice to exert a little effort to improve yourself? Disclaimer much???! J

A Tragedy

At least 27, with 18 children shot dead at Connecticut school: report

NEWTOWN, Connecticut - A heavily armed gunman killed 26 people, including 20 children from 5 to 10 years old, in a rampage at a Connecticut elementary school on Friday, one of the worst mass shootings in U.S. history.
The gunman - who according to a media report carried four weapons and wore a bulletproof vest - was dead inside Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut, state police, Lieutenant Paul Vance told a news conference.
Vance said authorities found 18 children and seven adults, including the gunman, dead at the school, and two children were pronounced dead later after being take to a hospital. Another adult was found dead at a related crime scene in Newtown, he said, bringing the toll to 28.
"Our hearts are broken today," President Barack Obama said in an emotional televised address to the nation.
"Evil visited this community today," Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy told reporters.
Two law enforcement sources briefed on the investigation confirmed to Reuters the shooter had been identified as Adam Lanza, 20. Adam's brother Ryan Lanza was "either in custody or being questioned" at this hour, one of the sources said.
The New York Times reported that the gunman walked into a classroom where his mother was a teacher, shot his mother and then 20 students, most in the same classroom, before shooting five other adults and killing himself. One other person was shot at the school and survived, the Times said.
The holiday season tragedy was the second shooting rampage in the United States this week and the latest in a series of mass killings this year, and was certain to revive a debate about U.S. gun laws.
Chaos struck as children gathered in their classrooms for morning meetings at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, a city of 27,000 in Fairfield County, about 80 miles northeast of New York City.
Police swarmed the scene and locked down the school, rushing children to safety, some of them bloodied. Distraught parents converged, frantically searching for their daughters and sons. Neighbors and friends wandered in shock, looking for information.
"It's hard to believe that anything like this could happen in this town," said resident Peter Alpi, 70, as he fought back tears. "It's a very quiet town. Maybe it's too quiet."
Hours later, Obama, wiping away tears and pausing to collect his emotions, mourned the "beautiful little kids between the ages of 5 and 10 years old" who were killed. He ordered flags flown at half staff at U.S. public buildings.
"As a country, we have been through this too many times," Obama said, ticking off a list of recent shootings.
"We're going to have to come together and take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics," Obama said in apparent reference to the influence of the National Rifle Association over members of Congress.
Obama remains committed to trying to renew a ban on assault weapons, White House spokesman Jay Carney said.

This was the headline that bombarded my Saturday morning.

26 people dead on a mass shooting, 20 of which are children from 5 to 10 years old. It was indeed a very tragic incident.
A lot of questions linger in my mind due to this. Mainly, I am curious as to what pushed the 20 year old shooter to have a shooting spree inside an elementary school. What kind of spirit possessed this young guy to do such a horrible thing? Was he out of his mind? Was he on drugs? Was he aware of what he did? Was he aware of what he was doing? Was it premeditated? I'm not sure if I would have any answers to these questions, specially now that the shooter is dead too. But I sure hope that the police can find out what really happened here so it can be prevented from happening.

My heartfelt condolences to the family of the victims. Be strong.
